Mitchell is a dynamic speaker who has a passion for training and helping others develop skills which helps them to lead successful lives. He  communicates very clear solutions in his own warm, open, caring style, to audiences of all ages. He has extensive training in substance use disorder prevention with a specialty in tobacco prevention and underage drinking prevention.  Mitchell was awarded the Prevention Specialist of the Year by the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals in 2019.

Mitchell also has extensive training, knowledge and experience in substance abuse counseling and community based substance use disorder prevention. He stays involved with local, regional, state and national issues improving substance use disorder recovery and prevention.

He currently provides Prevention Specialist and Behavioral Health training through the Community Advocacy Research and Evaluation Consulting Group, Inc, which is contracted with the TxHHS to deliver prevention training across Texas for Community Coalitions and Prevention Specialists.

Mitchell’s experience as an Executive Director of a Charitable Organization, managing programs and staff, overseeing statewide initiatives, writing grants, managing performance based contracts and working with a team of professionals has given him extensive experience working with youth in both prevention and recovery settings.

He is both a project developer and program manager he has been designing, developing, and delivering training and accompanying materials to a wide range of audiences through assorted mediums and venues for over 30 years.
