Definitions:
A course means a systematic learning experience, at least one (1) hour in length, for the acquisition of tasks, knowledge, skills, and information. An hour means fifty (50) minutes of participation in an organized learning experience.
Continuing Education means the forms of learning experiences, including, but not limited to lectures, conferences, academic studies, in-service education, institutes, seminars, workshops, extension studies, independent/home study programs and online courses taken by licensed/certified counselors, certified prevention professionals and peer recovery mentors/coaches for certification and/or re-certification. These learning experiences should enhance the knowledge of the participant in establishing or maintaining professional competence in their respective field.
Content Relevant to the Participant means content relevant to the development and maintenance of current competency in the field of substance use, mental health and/or co-occurring disorders, prevention and recovery.
